Preparing for Middle States Evaluation Team Visit
Dear Colleagues,
Thank you to everyone who attended last week’s Community Conversation, where Provost Damiano provided an overview of the Middle States peer review evaluation team’s upcoming visit on November 1-4.
The visit will provide many opportunities for faculty and staff to participate in conversations, share feedback, and help the team better understand our University. I encourage you to take part in these opportunities and share your perspectives. The experiences and insights you bring to this work are an important part of telling Utica University’s story.
Our Self-Study Report represents a significant amount of time, thought, and hard work by colleagues across the University. It reflects not only our commitment to meeting the standards required for reaccreditation, but also the many ways we work together to support our students, strengthen our academic programs, and advance the University’s mission.
While the Self-Study is an important step in the reaccreditation process, it is also an opportunity to take an honest look at where we are as a University: to recognize what we do well, identify where we need to strengthen our work, and consider recommendations for how we can continue to improve. To that end, the evaluation team’s visit gives us a chance to highlight both our accomplishments and the challenges we are working to address. Just as importantly, this process can help inform our work ahead.
I am grateful to everyone who has contributed to the process thus far and to those who will participate in the upcoming visit. Accreditation is a University-wide effort, and the work that has brought us to this point belongs to all of us. Thank you for the time, care, and commitment you bring to our community every day.
Sincerely,
Stephanie R. Nesbitt
